The oil

What is Oro di Milas?

An extra virgin olive oil made from 100% Memecik olives grown in Milas, on Türkiye’s Aegean coast. It comes in 500 mL dark glass bottles, 6 bottles per case. Product facts.

How is it made?

The olives are picked by hand once a year, from mid-October to mid-November, and cold-extracted within eight hours of picking on a Mori-Tem system. The oil is then filtered. Harvests are kept separate.

What does “harvest season 2025/26” mean?

It names the olive-oil harvest season, which runs from October to the following September. Oro di Milas is picked once a year, from mid-October to mid-November, so harvest season 2025/26 means olives picked in autumn 2025. Lot details for the stock we deliver are available on request.

What does it taste like, and how is it used?

Green, grassy, with a clean pepper finish; it works particularly well as a finishing oil. Use it raw, for finishing and over low heat: crudo, dressings and vinaigrettes, vegetables, bread service, marinades or a gentle sauté. Its aroma is fullest when it is added just before serving.

Is Milas a protected origin?

In 2020 the European Union registered Milas olive oil — Milas Zeytinyağı — as a Protected Designation of Origin. The groves that produce Oro di Milas lie within that region.

Has it won awards?

Yes. Oro di Milas has won Gold in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition (New York); Gold for oil quality at the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition in 2026 (Los Angeles); and a 92/100 score and a place in the EVOOLEUM Awards & Guide Top 20 Limited Production for Oro di Milas Reserve in 2026 (Spain). The producer’s 2023–2026 award record lists 33 distinctions in all. The complete record.

Tastings

What happens during a tasting?

A short, guided tasting: we explore the oil’s aroma, texture and finish, then talk about how it can work with your dishes. If you like, we can taste it alongside the oil you use now. Request a tasting and we’ll reply to arrange the details.

Do we need a tasting before we order?

No. A tasting is an invitation, not a step you need to take. If you already know what you want, ask about availability.

Does it replace our cooking oil?

No. It sits beside your cooking oil, for the dishes where the oil is meant to be tasted.
